Wendeng is located in the eastern tip of Shandong Peninsula. Total area is 1,645 square kilometers. Total population is 660,000 people. There are 14 towns, 3 street offices and 1 provincial level economic development zone under its jurisdiction. It is one of the open coastal cities in China.

Wendeng lies on the coastal area between Longitude 121?43,-122?19,east and Latitude 36?52,-37?23,north. There are distinguish four seasons and amicable climate. Average annual air temperature is 11.1?, rainfall is 816.7mm and sunshine period is 2522 hours.
　　Coastal line of Wendeng City is 155.8 km. Wendeng is rich in all kinds of aquatic products like fish, shrimp, shell and algae. Underground heat resource is rich and there are four hot water springs in Wendeng with daily output of 2000 cubic meters. The hot water contains many kinds of micro elements. Mineral resources are rich. Over ten kinds of mines like granite, marble, clay and gold spread wide. Especially the granite products of “Kunyu White” and “Kunyu Red” are famous at home and abroad and are sold to over 20 countries like Japan and Korea.

At present, ten backbone industry have been formed including machinery, auto, electronics, electric power, textile, chemical, medicine, building materials, leather products and foodstuff with over 20 kinds and 10000 specifications. More than 100 kinds of products like drill chuck, high energy battery, micro motor, garment, farming truck, crankshaft, tannery, drawn works, silk, spanner, fishing rod, optical cable and granite products are received at home and abroad.
Farming land in Wendeng City is over 820,000 mu. Wendeng is important commodity cereal production base and main production area of peanut, apple, milk goat, plush rabbit, shrimp cultivation and cocoon. Among these, cereal, peanut, milk goat and shrimp cultivation is listed as state level production basis and corn, fruit, cocoon, plush rabbit and fresh water cultivation is listed as production basis of Shandong Province.
